FOUNDATION DATA PRIVACY & PROTECTION

TARGET AUDIENCE

This two-day course is intended for anyone who wants to focus on data privacy and data protection in practice or who has to deal with the GDPR in their day-to-day work and therefore would like to know more. The training is particularly relevant for (future) Data Protection Officers (DPOs), (Chief) Privacy Officers, Privacy (Implementation) Managers, Risk Managers, (Information) Security Officers, Compliance Officers, ICT Managers, Information Managers, Controllers, IT architects, data managers, BI professionals, other data specialists, (senior) policy staff involved in data privacy and data protection and corporate lawyers.

Knowledge of this topic is not required.

RESULT TRAINING

At the end of this training the participant is well-established in the General Data Protection Regulation and in particular in the data privacy risks that need to be controlled, the law requirements for organizations regarding data privacy and data protection, which rights can be derived from the law and how they can be facilitated, the essentials of privacy governance, and responsible implementation of data protection.

CONTENT TRAINING
  • Day 1: Backgrounds and most important themes and concepts of the GDPR: accountability, privacy risks, personal data, processing, relations with processors, principles and fundamentals of data processing, compliance requirements, rights of data subjects, information and other duties, Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA)
  • Day 2: IT & IT security, privacy governance, implementation of privacy management and control measures and various cases.

  • A balanced relationship between theory and practice.
  • A practical training, characterized by a high degree of interactivity, including by practicing and discussing cases in group settings.
  • An adequate digital learning environment with all course material and (in-depth) literature.
  • The course is composed by experienced privacy experts, (privacy) lawyers, ICT professionals, risk managers, business managers and educational experts. The lecturers are also ‘hands on’ in day-to-day work, such as Data Protection Officers, (Chief) Privacy Officers and senior privacy counsel at management and executive level within various branches of the business community (ranging from SMEs to multinationals), industry organizations, governments and semi-public institutions.
  • The program also forms the preceding module of the Data Protection Officer program on the one hand and the Data Privacy Management course on the other (see below).
